Italian artist Luca Strippoli was born in Milan on 1965. His schooling imprinting is based on graphics and photography. Since 1984 his artistic background started with canvas oil painting figurative themes, then geometric abstractionism and now he is working on abstract expressionism.Since when do you paint and what are your favorite motives?
I fell in love with art in 1984, i painted my first artwork in that period, influenced by my school education in graphics and photography
When you create a new work, how do you proceed? What comes first?
I could say that my work is a product of gestuaral and impulsive mark-making combined with more meditated shapes and final details until the piece meets my visual logic. From what do you get your inspiration?
When i shoot and when i paint my main influence is light depth, music guide me. My mind builds troughts and my hands converts everything in colors, power and emotions.
Your life without art would be...
Art is everywhere, walking and observing, i always find something that inspire me. Sundays morning i use to walk around and i always come back home with new ideas. I cannot imagine life without art. What is the best art place in your city at the moment?
Milan is my city, i think every place is an open art museum. At the moment “MUDEC MUSEUM” is my favourite.Learn more about the artist:
