Aly Harte

Aly Harte, of Northern Ireland, reimagines the language of grief and loss. Her performative paintings use a dynamic mix of color, expressive brushstrokes, and written word to translate generational trauma into a visual language that invites the audience to not only confront the deep pain of loss but also to find moments of joy in the everyday.

After receiving a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art, followed by a Distinction in her Masters of Fine Art, Aly has continued to build a successful and evolving creative career since 2005. Notably, she has done so while raising three children. By confronting grief head-on while also making room for moments of lightness and beauty, she offers a profound statement on the resilience of the human spirit. Aly’s work encourages her audience to claim the right to experience joy and to romanticize life as they see fit.
